Pineapple
Pineapple, called Ananas comosus, or Bromelia pineapple is a tropical herbaceous plant originating in Brazil, the Caribbean, or even in Central America. It is part of the Bromeliad family. The name comes from the Native Americans who called it “naná naná”, which means “perfume of perfumes”.
Culture
The plant requires well-drained, rich, acidic soil. A pineapple takes fourteen to twenty months to reach maturity from planting to harvest. Force Ultra Nature organic dried pineapples are cut into slices which are placed in a solar drier until they are dehydrated. It normally takes three days.
The benefits of dried pineapple
Pineapple is a source of cellulose, a fiber used to improve the functioning of the digestive system, in particular by promoting digestion and avoiding constipation problems.
Pineapple is also known for its anti-inflammatory action. Indeed, the bromeline it contains would inhibit the production of prostaglandin, the substance responsible for inflammation.
